National Popcorn Day
Seems like there’s a ‘national’ day for everything right? National Skipping Day anyone? How about National Stop Snoring Week? But guys, there’s one we can most definitely get behind here at Fanattik - National Popcorn Day! The perfect excuse to think about, talk about and spend all day watching movies!

The big debate then this National Popcorn Day is to go out or stay in? Cinema or Netflix? Let’s have a quick look at a few of our top picks to choose from

Staying In!

Another Star Wars spin-off movie has arrived at Netflix. Solo: A Star Wars Story tells the story of young Han Solo and how he became the galaxy’s most notorious smuggler. We find out what he was doing before he became the legend that he is and how he came to hook up with Chewbacca. Pretty much a must-see for all Star Wars fans.

Later this month, Netflix release the Marvel sequel to the brilliant 2015 Ant-Man movie. Ant-Man and the Wasp shows Scott Lang balancing life as a father and a Super Hero with all the responsibilities of both roles! A new mission sees him team up with the Wasp to uncover secrets from their past.

If TV is more your thing, you’ll find plenty of great series to munch your popcorn with.
Watching TV

The third and final series of ‘A Series Of Unfortunate Events’ airs on Netflix from January as does Season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery
Titans also airs on Netflix this month and follows a team of young superheroes led by Nightwing who was formerly Batman’s first Robin.
SKY Atlantic have a new series of True Detective this month, expect more dark secrets as two former detectives narrate the story of a flawed investigation.
Over on FOX UK you have the premiere of the TV adaptation of The Passage, Justin Cronin’s bestselling vampire trilogy - we can’t wait for this one!

Going Out!

The true story of the classic comedy duo Laurel & Hardy comes to cinemas this month. Stan & Ollie is the heart-warming story of what was to become their farewell tour of Britain and Ireland. It’s a story of their friendship as they face huge pressures and a grueling schedule and demonstrates how they secured their place in the hearts of the public. Don’t miss this one.
M Night Shyamalan returns to the big screen this month with Glass, the final chapter in his secret trilogy which connects the worlds of Unbreakable and Split. Bruce Willis is David Dunn who uses his supernatural powers to track Wendell Crumb, a disturbed man with 24 personalities played by James McAvoy. Examining the strength and weaknesses we each possess has humans, this looks unmissable for Shyamalan fans.

And our final pick is Oscar buzz movie Vice starring Christian Bale. Bale plays Dick Cheney in this story of his tenure as Vice President to George W Bush at a tumultuous time in history. Sure to win awards, this is one to watch.
