Chapter 3 – Tom Howard – Online Sale Executive

How long have you been with Fanattik and what does your job entail?
I have been with Fanattik for 9 months. My job involves running the websites and marketplaces where we sell our products, as well as creating copy for new and existing products.

Which brands that Fanattik work with are your favourites?
I am a massive fan of the Cornetto Trilogy, so Hot Fuzz/Shaun of the Dead/The World's End. I grew up watching these classics, so Nick Frost and Simon Pegg are heroes of mine 😊

I am also a fan of Castlevania and I particularly enjoyed the new Netflix series. I hold Metal Gear Solid with endearment (not because I have ever played the games) because it was the first range I worked on at Fanattik.

What's your favourite product(s) that Fanattik have produced?
The Doom Floppy Disk - What a cool homage to this legendary game!
The Shining Ticket to the Overlook Hotel Ball - This classic film never fails to give me the shivers, Jack Nicholson really is one of the all-time greats.
The Godzilla Desk Pad + Coaster set - I use this at my desk and the artwork is fantastic. The Japanese style design pops out.

Away from Fanattik, what’s your favourite film?
My favourite film is In Bruges. The partnership of Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson never fails to make me laugh.

Do you have any interesting geeky stories?
I used to live in Liverpool, and one day I was walking past the Grand Central Library and St George's Hall when I noticed all the cars parked up said "Gotham City Police Department" on them. As you can imagine, I took a quick double take and as I looked back, I saw a van with the words "Gotham News" on the side. Little did I know the new Batman movie was being filmed right in front of me! Robert Pattinson was right there! As a big Batman fan this was amazing news and that evening, I saw Batman leaning off the top of the Liver Building with a Warner Brothers helicopter circling. A surreal experience I will never forget!
